I personally find that slight water retention have a positive effect on strength. I wonder if this could be due to the added support the water givers to ligaments and the joints.. what are you think about it?

Correct more water in the muscle cells, eventually equates to more leverage and more strength.

Thanks.. Also, does water retention in any way allow for more muscle gain?

Kevin has already answered both questions. What do you think added strength will bring (if used effectively)?
