Cooter is actually redneck lingo for poon tang, beaver, pussy or vagina, not ass.
But, you have to be a redneck to actually use it. A yankee trying to get away with using the word cooter is like a white guy trying to use black slang. It doesn't matter how cool you are, it just doesn't sound right coming out of the mouth of a white guy.
