Why get points when you post?

They are post counts to show how active you are on the board. Some people though take it too serious and become post-whores. I personally don't give a shit how many posts someone has, it does not tell me their knowlegde.

its basically an incentive for people on the board to post.. when you have alot of points you can buy things at the store, such as a custom name or title or make your name glow, or change someones title.. i dunno.... diff b/s like that
