Watch this: Celebrities and whistleblowers join to incite NSA protest | The Verge

Digital rights group the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has enlisted the help of high-profile whistleblowers and celebrities for a new video. "Stop Watching Us: The Video" is a call to arms; it sees celebrities, whistleblowers, activists, and politicians speaking out against mass surveillance and the NSA. Among the celebrity speakers on the video are John Cusack, Oliver Stone, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Wil Wheaton. It's hoped that the high-profile faces will help persuade people to rally against the NSA's "dragnet surveillance of our communications."

Stop Watching Us: The Video - YouTube

The Rally Against Mass Surveillance will take place October 26th between midday and 3PM. Organized by the EFF, ACLU, and other groups under the Stop Watching Us banner, the rally has also received endorsement from the high-profile whistleblower Edward Snowden. In a statement posted to the Stop Watching Us site, Snowden says "no telephone in America makes a call ... no internet transaction enters or leaves America without passing through the NSA's hands. Our representatives in Congress tell us this is not surveillance. They're wrong. Now it's time for the government to learn from us."

Unfortunately until the public backlash to privacy invasion from the gov grows nothing will happen. Congress has known this has been going on for years but kept their mouths shut and looked the other way. It's already becoming old news. All we need are a few distractions like the Gov shutdown and the AHA website fiasco to forget what we are loosing. We have been feed a steady diet of fear for years that has allowed our rights to be stripped from us. Under the patriot act we can all be considered "lone wolves."

"I have nothing to hide", "I'm not a doing anything illegal", "They're only going after criminals and terrorists", are the words of fools. We still do have sedition laws in the US, who is a criminal and who isn't is not up to us.

18 USC § 2385 - Advocating overthrow of Government | Title 18 - Crimes and Criminal Procedure | U.S. Code | LII / Legal Information Institute
18 USC § 2385 - Advocating overthrow of Government
18 USC § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy | Title 18 - Crimes and Criminal Procedure | U.S. Code | LII / Legal Information Institute
18 USC § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy

The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 were used to prosecute individuals that challenged criticized or questioned our government at the time and was even used by Thomas Jefferson who opposed them at the time

The Sedition act of 1918 forbade the use of "disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language" about the United States government, its flag, or its armed forces or that caused others to view the American government or its institutions with contempt. Those convicted under the act generally received sentences of imprisonment for 5 to 20 years."

The EFF.org is a good site to keep up to date with the almost daily revelations of gov spying. It's changing so fast that their Surveillance Self-Defense site ssd.eff.org hasn't even been updated lately in light of the new findings.

Microsoft is developing tech that will replace cookies and allow the tracking across multiple platforms that run windows software including your xbox. They've been in the Fed's pocket for years anyway and I'm sure that's how they are able to do as much as they have through backdoored Microsoft software and any products/services running their software.

EFF has a site that allows you to see who is already tracking you on your computer.
Panopticlick
then check out;
DoNotTrackMe - Protects Your Privacy By Blocking Online Tracking
Ghostery

This is a good site for privacy, security info and software
Opt out of global data surveillance programs like PRISM, XKeyscore, and Tempora - PRISM Break

Nothing will come of this...Do you think the NSA built a $1.7 billion facility in Utah just to stop what they have been doing forever because people are pissed...Definitely not!

They have already stated that they are going to begin moving towards less work force and more computer controlled operations so there will be no future leaks within the organization.....

It does not matter what people say as in the end they are sheep and this government does exactly as it wishes...Other countries will bitch and moan the same as the sheep in this country but that is the extent to it as NO ONE has power over what the US govt decides to do.....
