Advice for a doctor - 03-17-2005, 02:00 AM

I have decided to get my own doctor for blood work, tests, etc(different than my primary physician). I looked up a couple endocrinologists in the area(Dallas) but i don't really know what to look for. Do i need a specialized sports doctor?

If any one have any advice i would really appreciate it from you bros.

-What questions should i ask the doctor?
-Should i be upfront with AAS usage?
-What should i expect from the doctor? (his response, etc)

When i first started my wife wanted me to see to doctor to make sure i was healthy enough to do steroids. I told him about what i was doing and of course he told me the negatives of using them. I told him i've done all the research and that i was using them in a safe manor. Although he didn't condone the usage of course he did monitor his concerns of my health. Especially the high blood pressure. Be honest with the doctor or they won't be able to give you an honest assumption.

An endocrinologist is a specialist. In many parts of the US a specialist will not even see you unless you've been referred by a primary care physician. I would either see a different PC or a doctor who specializes in sports meds. You thought you caught crap from the board when you wanted to juice. A doctor will give you an even harder time. It's your age group that Congress is trying to pretend they are saving.

you need to see an endocrinologist. BTW most doctors dont know enough about steroids to give an informed opinion. A friend of mine is in medical school right now, being that steroids are a hot topic they discuss it. However he explained to me that steroids knowledge and uses have developed in a parallel universe to the rest of modern medicine. Unless the doctor has actually worked with someone in the past chances are he will be regurgitating information.
