All has to do with where a person lives. Cold and rainy the majority is not fit..Hot and sunny with outdoor activities a person cares more about health and weight..

While I think it plays a part in the equation, IB, there's definitely more to it than that. I live in the Southeast, and we get more than our fair share of hot sunny days. But, as a region we have one of the highest levels of obesity in the country. Far higher than an area like Seattle or Portland, which both get substantially less sunshine and warm weather than we do.

And as far as the premise of the article goes, it's 100% free to get your ass out of bed and go out in the sunshine early in the morning. Even if it doesn't actually cause you to directly lose any weight, it can't possibly do you any harm.
