Hey guys!
Got a brand new dolphin peristaltic pump and whatman Polycap filter .
I am trying to figure out how to set this thing up. Lol.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I am a little confused at the basic scheme of the whole thing.
The pump pulls liquid into one side of the tube and shoots it out the other side, correct? In it's most basic definition.

I guess I assumed that it would pull the unfiltered oil out of the container into a filter and then through the machine and then shoot it into a container.
But I saw this diagram
http://i40.tinypic.com/2ivk1z.jpg

And this looks like it pulls the unfiltered oil through the tube, then through the machine and then it PUSHES the oil out the other side into the filter where is pushed through the filter into the final container.

I guess my confusion is when I used a vacuum pump, I felt like I was PULLING the oil through the filter by creating a vacuum? (Maybe I am wrong)
And now with the pump, I am pushing it through the filter?
Does that makes sense? Thanks for the help.
Just a little confused as to where the filter fits into the whole thing.

Thanks. Sorry to seem so dumb.

I ran a parastaltic set up.
The diagram is exactly as it shows. Tube goes in unfilitered. The pump squeezes the tube causing a vacuum and forces the oil through the filter.

I used a Whatman polycap 36 I believe.
It's amazing what they can do. 1 liter in less then an hour..
