MCV refers to the size of the RBC which makes you think it would stand for cell, but it's actually corpuscular

I'm sure...Corpusculum,Corpuscle is any minute body or cell Red and White blood cells or certain types of nerve endings.in short any blood cell is a corpuscle.
MCV= mean cell volume is a ratio of the two.
So..actually to call it mean corpuscular volume is not wrong.
theyre both referring to blood cells...OOOOO.KKKKKK.? :)

Boomps for masta

It really doesn't matter at all. There are always a billion different names for the same thing in the medical world. I've just never heard it called mean cell volume before.
