I've talked many times about the importance of lifting to failure.


Watching this now makes me wonder if occlusion training is working at all. With occlusion the reps are exactly the same 20 to 30. Go figure...

I think everyone should use a variety of reps for the reasons he mentioned in the video. You could do it over different days or even in the same session. Although there has to be breaks from heavy lifting to save your joints and prevent injury. It also keeps things interesting and more fun training with a different approach each time. Moreover those 20-30 rep failure sets can be brutal.

Good watch. I stay in the 8-12 rep range most of the time but it's always good to mix in higher reps to stimulate all muscle fibers.

I have backed off from the heavy lifting. Trying to keep weight more focused and controlled squeezing. Itís fucken hard. Canít say it satisfies the powerlifter in me but itís getting the job done

This is why I enjoy FT training so much.

You mix everything in during a week. Heavy loading, rest pause and high rep sets. Covering all aspects.

That's where I'm at right now. Around 8-15 reps. With Leg recently I've been hitting 20 rep ranges.
