When making your own injectables... there are some recipes that call for BOTH Benzyl Alcohol, and Benzyl Benzoate.

My question is:

Is Benzyl Benzoate really necessary?

I have seen at least one company that sells "disolving solution" for making injectables that uses only Benzyl Alcohol...and no Benzyl Benzoate at all.

Can this be done?

And if so...do you simply add that much more benzyl Alcohol to the mix to compensate for not adding benzyl benzoate?

Confused...

yes I belive all the bb is for is to allow the agent to suspend better, and to flow better I guess, and some say it takes out the pain more, but the BA is absolutly necessary for sterilization.
