Scammer who found a hack around the Protonmail unsend features limits for premier
accounts is sending fake emails requesting lists with the expire to delete the email from
the receiver email.
Proton has said they have found and corrected the back door but we received 10+ emails
that showed in our account and then were gone when we came back. After changing our
password twice we found that there was a hacker on DN Mitch Mathers was selling info on
how to use a backdoor for the unsend feature to have unlimited time for sending to non
Proton accounts!!
After a couple months of this we received an email stating our account had been hacked
and we must have noticed random emails deleting in the account. They would show us
how to correct the bug in settings for 0.5btc. We changed the pw again and the message
came the next month. Eventually one of our customers did some scouting for us and
found the Proton thread and info on the DN.
So it is not fully corrected yet with Proton and if you see emails disappearing and you
change your pass and it does it again you can assume it's this scam because there is
no setting for anyone to see your pw reset!
Be warned and ignore those emails!
