Hey brothers, what do you think about storing meats in the freezer? i heard on the tv that when you defrost it you`ll lose many values (proteins, vitamins etc)
is it true?

thanks

I think it depends on how long you keep it frozen too.

SO ARE YOU SAYING that if stored frozen for more than a month meat will lose its micronutrients?
always assumed that freezing is the best way to preserve meat

The only way a food sources loses any of its nutrient properties is through consumption/metabolism-

And neither of these can happen when a meat is frozen. If you take a 1lb flank steak and dried it in the sun, it would have the exact same nutrient quality/ characteristics as a 1lb fresh flank steak.

Now I say this in respect to macro and micronutrient properties, there may be some enzyme and peptide degradation but those aren't of any significant value in terms of meat consumption.

Now in fruits and veggies there are more "phytonutrients" which happen to be much more delicate and play a more applicable role in health and well being... So fresh fruits and veggies is the way to go. Meats- dont really matter so long as the quality was good to begin with.

Veggies that are flash frozen have more nutrients than plain frozen vegetables. It's the heat from the blanching that removes the nutrients in veggies that are frozen versus flash freezing.

Cause it's easier to cut up a body and dry out the flesh than dumping the damn thing whole-
