There are some other very solid forums, but some forums, especially the larger ones, you really have to just ignore the kids, and search for the threads from those with intelligence. Each board has their own solid members, but unfortunately, some of the kiddy posts surpass them. For example, i'm not a big fan of bb.com, but I like going there to read alan aragon posts.
As this board grows, it'll have some idiots join as well, it's just the nature of the beast with growth. The admin/mods will do a good job though, i'm sure of it
