On St. Patrick's Day my girl and I were having some people over at our place after a drink down the street at the main strip here at La Playa I wanted to pick up a couple of CD's that I'd lost over time and they happened to be 2 of my favorite bands/albums...The first was SOCIAL DISTORTION (SEX, LOVE, AND ROCK N' ROLL)...I'm a long time Social D fan and have seen them live a couple of times...I pretty much grew up on them and love them...The second CD was SUBLIME(STAND BY YOUR VAN)...What do I have to say about Sublime...They're a staple where I live...Don't know anyone that doesn't like em...STAND BY YOUR VAN is a compilation of songs from a live performance...Love it along with Brad Nowell R.I.P.
Anyways, I like these 2 albums even more now and I'm glad I re-bought them both...If you haven't heard them you should check them out...

-SOCIAL D is Punk and real Rock n Roll from the 70's till nowa days...Mike Ness being the lead singer/guitar

-SUBLIME's genre is a jumping style of ska, hip hop, punk, reggae and dub but they reach far beyond that...Live SUBLIME, even at the height of their career, always retained that 3-guys-playing-for-beer attitude...Just 3 guys and a Dalmation jumping on stage and looking for a good time...Brad Nowell being the lead singer/guitarist-"a scat master of lyrical improvisation,"Jr.Griffin

Sublime....

Don't know a whole lot about SD, but Sublime is probably the one type of music that all of my friends can agree on. And, yes, I meant that when I said type of music because there has never been and will never be another like them. I personally feel that there should be another genre simply named Sublime. By the way, I'm way down here in good ol' po' ass Louisiana....

Social D is the shit, Mike Ness can do no wrong... a long time fan of them. Sublime... hell I grew up on sublime.

A couple that I would add to this list. Brian Setzer and Slightly Stoopid :afro:

Two GREAT bands. R.I.P Brad! The live one has some funny parts between songs. Good pics.
You always know the best bands when you can buy the cds over and over and never complain!
