Started watching this series with the wife.

8 episodes in, not bad so far. Has a Stephen King-eque feel to it. Like a scifi Stand By Me or IT.
 
Exactly! The floaty stuff in the air on the underside and at the portals is the same pshycic energy stuff from the gunslinger and what IT uses to lool like a clown. Very Stephen King'ish and in the 2nd season there are some small gestures, background things and qoutes that will remind you of different books he wrote. Pretty cool.
